Wedding

Jenny + Phil: Kangaroo Valley, Southern Highlands

Jenny and Phil are one of the most genuine and lovely couples we’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Being supremely laid back and relaxed, their choice of venue, the Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat, suited them to a tee. Friends and family came from far and wide, including a massive group from New Zealand, to celebrate their big day. Being from New Zealand, Phil asked his cousins to perform a traditional Maori welcome at the start of the ceremony, which added a really unique and personal touch.

Everyone had a blast at the reception, laughing at some very funny speeches and dancing late into the night. We had an amazing time too; thanks so much for inviting us along Jenny and Phil!

Hollie + Aaron: Northern Beaches, Sydney

On a sunny day it’s easy to see why many couples fall in love with the Northern Beaches. Hollie & Aaron definitely have – they (and many of their guests!) travelled all the way from Victoria to enjoy their beautiful beach front wedding. The sun didn’t disappoint either – we had a perfect day for their ceremony on Shelly Beach followed by their reception at Manly Skiff Club.

Hollie and Aaron were relaxed and easygoing throughout the whole day and such a pleasure to work with.

Thanks for letting me tag along :)

Julia + Andrew: Peppers Manor House, Southern Highlands

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to our first blog of 2012. We can’t think of a better way to start the New Year than with Julia and Andrew’s gorgeous wedding. One of the many  wonderful things about being a photographer is meeting amazing new people and travelling to new places; with this wedding we got to do both.

The nuptials were held on the lawns of the Peppers Manor House in Sutton Forest, amongst gorgeous gardens and surrounded by beautiful, hilly countryside. Julia has an amazing eye for detail (a real treat for photographers as well!); butterfly place settings and notes, trivia cards involving funny questions about friends and the bridal party, pompoms hanging from the trees - it all made for the most pretty and personalised wedding.

Julia is such a gracious and thoughtful person; when a bride is asking ‘is your room okay’, and ‘please let me know if you need anything at all,’ only an hour before her wedding, you know she is a kind soul!  Andrew is the same, so generous and he made sure everyone was having a great time. It was so wonderful to spend the weekend with this fabulous group of people, who made us feel like friends and guests at their wedding.

All the best you two! We hope our paths cross again!

Stay tuned for more from this couple - their day-after get together will be on the blog soon!

Jocelyn + Richard: The Tea Rooms, Gunners Barracks

Jocelyn and Richard are two romantic souls. They celebrate “montha-versaries” instead of anniversaries and when they chose the date of their wedding, they chose the same date they first met 3 years ago. There were so many moments throughout their wedding that made this such a special day – from the personal touches like Jocelyn designing and sewing her own beautifully-made wedding dress, right through to a last-minute decision to move the bridal waltz to the open-air courtyard because “it just felt right”.

Jocelyn and Richard were married at the historic Gunners Barracks at Mosman. Despite the occasional shower the bridal party were all up for exploring the Georges Heights headland before heading into the reception at the elegant Tea Rooms. Richard continued adding their own personal touches to their wedding – with the groom making the first speech in order to welcome all their guests, many of whom had travelled from abroad to celebrate.

For more photos of this lovely couple please check out their engagement session from earlier this year.

Amy + Alex: Dural, Sydney

Amy and Alex are probably the most relaxed couple I have met on their wedding day. “Should I be feeling nervous now?” asked Amy as she was applying the finishing touches to her make-up. Alex asked a similar question as we waited at the altar for Amy to walk down the aisle. These guys had nothing to be nervous about – they were just both so excited that their big day had finally arrived and had no room for nerves! Their ceremony was held at the St Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church in Blacktown, an intimate gathering with only their closest family present.

We then headed to Nurragingy Reserve for photos before finishing up at their garden-setting reception at the Butterfly Cafe in Dural. It was a beautiful day I was honoured to be involved in – congratulations Amy & Alex!
